The 1995 version of "Sense & Sensibility" starring Emma
Thompson is one of my favorite movies. This inspired me to attempt
an exact replica in 1:12 scale.
This project will be started as a joint project with my
dad. He's the brains behind the construction, engineering, and
framing. Dad wanted to do something with timber-framing and I am
keen to use paperclay.
We need to re-create stone walls in order for the
windows and window seats to look right so that means adding depth to the
walls.
Great thanks go out to:
-
Joyce Percival - "Architecture for Dolls' Houses" -
1996. Probably one of the best architectural books I've ever read on
historical time periods in England and their effect on architecture.
-
Brian Nickolls - "Making Dolls' Houses in 1/12 Scale" -
1996
-
Garth Close - "The Houseworks 1' to 1' Scale Dollhouse
Plan Book (Build 3 Complete House Styles, Victorian-Colonial-Georgian)"
- 1994
-
and of course, Emma Thompson, Ang Lee, and Jane Austen
